VT Turkey Season

Good Afternoon!

Typically number updates are about lobsters not people! Thanks to the 28 people who have submitted their guesses via Venmo for the 2020 Lobster Pot Challenge! Out of those 28 only 19 are eligible for the T-shirts (undisclosed reasons). That means that there is only 1 "free" T-shirt left!!! I was pretty impressed with the turn out over the first week, however we are only a quarter of the way to last year’s participant number! Come on people!!!! Lets goooo!!!!! Venmo your $20/guess to @LizaCasella you can include your guess with the transaction or text her or I separately.

Last week we had a great week over at Little Duder Lobster Co. (LDLCO). We (I) took a quick jaunt over to Maine to drop off the new Liza B to get its decals and a new hard top put on! Gotta look fresh and stay out of the sun out there, but more importantly support your local economy! As each State starts to open back up, we had to clean up a couple AirBnB units for the next round of guests, Ca-Ching - check your local and state rules and the website for availability (eligible discounts apply to fellow lobster potters plus a free trip and lobster dinner)!

Crew Update: I have been in close contact (don't worry we followed all CDC guidelines) with my fellow fleet captain- Ben Cole or ‘Neighbor Ben’ for those of you who don't know him.  He has his tags, traps, and buoys ready to get oh so Salty! He truly is a great fit for this endeavor as he possess the eagerness and energy necessary to keep up with me, but most importantly; he is actually a true Maine local who has salt running through his veins!  He and I have slowly been fine tuning our approach, logistics, and strategic game plan so we can hit ‘em hard right off the bat!

First mate Liza has been dealing all my antics - No picture included for safety of myself.

William (LD) has been getting his sea legs under him:

Cousin Kenny also has been putting in some time...

As far as me....Seeings as though I have been landlocked in VT, some of you know how difficult it is for me to maintain this PBR/ Dad Bod- so I took to a new/old activity as part of my pre-season workouts regiment - Turkey Hunting! This activity has similar ups and downs of excitement and heart break similar to pulling up a full or empty trap! Also a great way to social distance as that is now the new norm! God forbid people hang out together now! Here is a little info on Turkeys: http://crosstalk.cell.com/blog/turkey-myths-debunked That's it! Remember don't let the rest of your Monday hit you below the belt too hard! -Capt Duder

P.S. Shout out to this weeks editor : Erin Banfield (obviously done on her own time not work time)
