"Life's a beach, so relax and eat more lobster."

Folks a little late this week! Been really busy with all my "projects"! My B....

Last Tuesday we were happy to host UNH Assistant Women's Hockey coach Bill Bowes and his grandson Liam!

“Question: How many WJB’s does it take to harvest lobsters on the Little Duder? Answer: 4. William James Banfield II, William James Banfield III, William (Liam) Joseph Berardi, William John Bowes. Thank you to the Wills and Liza for taking us on a wonderful excursion on a beautiful afternoon aboard the Liza B. Myself and my grandson are so grateful for the learning experience we had with the fantastic company on board! Reminds me of the lessons learned from my first year ever as a men’s golf coach at Castleton, Will taught me the ropes then also! Get the team to and from the course safely, find good food for them, and look like I knew what I was doing as a golf coach was my goal. I think I accomplished that under Will’s tutelage. I learned more than anyone how to play golf that year. “The way life should be” and has always been for me, in my 42 years as a hockey coach. The coach learning from the players!!” – Bill

Last Thursday we had one of my long time friends, fly fishing and comedic legend, and totes one of the kind Sam Morse on board! He was very helpful in providing a loose and stress free working environment for Ben and I!

“I hate writing as much now as I did in school. It’s summer and I don’t have time for this (Kinda like Kenny). Took 3 years to finally get on the Liza B! Thunder showers threatened to have us sippin' from shore, but we found a great little window and only felt a few drops. Landed somewhere around 20 crustaceans, but I wouldn’t know. All the lobsters were spoken for so they sent me home with a flounder. I couldn’t even get me the poor clawless one. Mango seltzer’s went down the smoothest and gave us the best luck.” – Sam

Employee appreciation is always good for business- So, on Saturday's sunrise trip we stayed within the company confines and brought the Marketing/Sales & Production crew members out, Erin Banfield and Chelsea Boucher! Video is coming for next week! A very big shout out to Sista Cait for watching LD so we could be as efficient as possible as we were on a tight schedule. It was Wheels Up straight to Lake Bomoseen to celebrate Mama Sues Big 50th for the weekend with most of the Casella Clan! We were able to deliver 31 lobby’s to Vermont this weekend (Yes, Sam they were all spoken for. Hope you enjoyed your flounder.) enjoyed by the Casella Family at Bomo and some Shouldice’s on Dunmore. I enjoy every minute of sweating my ass off at sea and on land to provide for our family!

PS- sorry for those Vermonters that did not benefit from this haul- we’ll get you on the next trip - Got some things in the works!

The Numbers: We seemed to have an average week as far as hauling these little buggers in, only 41 on the week, bringing the YTD number in at 199! Almost hit the 200s in record breaking fashion. Fellow Potter’s Tara Bres and Eliza Fay will most likely be thrown overboard after the next trip and Abbey and Jaime are in serious trouble! Don't try and butter me up!!! heheh get it. The “Liza B” already surpassed the YTD numbers in 2020 compared to 2019 and “Murphy’s Claw” is keeping a very very nice and steady pace! Last week in July LFG!!!!!

Breaking News: A very big welcome to the hugely improved "Murphys Claw". The fleet is starting to actually look like one!!!! Anybody out in this waters better be watching out for these blue demons slaying lobsters! If you're in the market for a 14ft rubber boat get in touch with Ben!

Upcoming:

1) Next week Video #3 on the season.... Oh boy!! This one should be good!

2) Pierce Re-cap

3) West Rutland AirBnB renovations: Family investment led by Michael Casella- it is very entertaining!

4) Applied for my Lobster retail license. Should hear this week! Keep your eyes and ears open @Littleduder
