Well folks, if you didn’t know this was going to be a roller coaster of a season, I’m here to tell you it will be and that we are all on this crazy train together!!!! One week we haul in 63 keepers and this past week just 26. Mind blown, right? I know you all were second guessing your bets last week, but listen, this is a long season of ups and downs and Liza hasn't even gone into labor yet!
Ok, a couple reasons for the short numbers. First, The Liza B was out of the water on Tuesday for the T-Top, which finally got installed after weeks of frustration and anxiety. It was well worth the wait and all the stupid headaches!! Now LD has some shade and the boat looks salty AF! My only complaint is that this Shawn T sculpture is going to have to work for the rays now but, don't worry, I will get bronzed anyway! Shout out to Salty Boats of Maine and Bourchard & Sons Welding – on the T-Top, unreal work! Last, Saturday we had perfect storm-esque waves (not really), but they were big. We had to turn around at Whaleback Light. With the little man onboard, this was the responsible thing to do but I will tell you, not even the bigger boat would've ventured out in those seas. There wasn't a boat in the ocean to be seen.
Thank God for “Murphy’s Claw” throwing in the support on Monday with a 6 spot, and then a group effort on Thursday with two dime pieces (that’s 20 for yous non-millennial's)!
For the veteran potters I’m sure you’re now scratching your head!
For you rookies, just gnaw on that claw...
Updates:
Boat: – Top is done. Looks fire! Actually looks like a real boat now!
T-shirts: - For the first 20 people that submitted guesses and for fellow and non-fellow potters who have gone on a LDL Co. lobster excursion your t-shirts are in the mail. Future boaters will receive one upon making the trip... Send a note and I'll send one for $20 (It supports a great cause)!
The Numbers: As of July 15, 2019 we had 61 in the month and 80 overall. At the end of last week we had 63 for the month of July 2020 and 120 total. We are on a great pace!!!
Spot light company of the week:
Shout to Tyler Gilbert (potter) of The Graphic Edge (formerly Keith’s Sporting Goods) of Pittsford, VT for the shirt hook-up! They came out awesome! I know, I mix t-shirt and graphic companies but LDL Co supports all local companies! Get in touch with Tyler if you need something!
It's a beautiful night on Badgers Island...over n' out!
