August Smaugust!

Writer: Capt'n Duder Capt'n Duder

Hi Folks!

Happy September and Labor Day!

Hard to believe that summer is over, but let's be honest.... It wasn't a great summer weather wise (or lobster wise). That's why I am personally looking forward to these fall months - it just happens to be my favorite time of year and our best lobster time of year! We had a tough week last week to close out August. Between hurricanes, wind, and "single parenting" while Liza was away on business, the fleet wasn't able to make it out until Saturday. Although we only fished one day we had the best haul in LDL Co's history. Murphy's Claw hauled in a whopping 18, the Liza B couldn't quite match it, but came close with 17! After a great haul on Saturday the fleet stomped back out on Monday with great fire and drive to only come back deflated with a dismal 7.... (Murphy's Claw- 5, Liza B- 2). 2020 YTD: 455 2021 YTD: 375 As you can see we are a little behind last year's number. Which means we need to make a very strong push for the next six weeks, no excuses. Charlie B is now walking, so it’s every man for themselves out there! We haven't “officially” knocked anyone out yet, although John Manekis is holding on by threads. We’re coming for ya! Peace, Love, and for christ sake please pray for lobsters! -Capt' Duder
